KESDA Registration
Please consider this your personal
invitation to join the Kentucky Educational Speech and Drama
Association, Inc. and participate in the Junior and/or Senior
Division Tournament next spring. KESDA is a statewide speech
organization for Junior and High School students that offers an
open state tournament, which means you may enter as many
students in each event as would like. The tournaments are held
in Lexington, at the Holiday Inn - North, in late February and
early March. All competition is held in the Holiday Inn
beginning on Thursday and concluding on Saturday with the awards
banquet.
Just a few of the highlights of the
KESDA tournaments, in addition to the open entries, include:

Everything is self-contained on the one property
-
All students compete in 3 rounds of competition and then may
advance to Quarters, Semi's and Finals of 11 Junior Division
events and 15 Senior Division
-
For the Junior Division - students may enter up to 4 events
- 2 in Group A; 2 in Group B *For the Senior Division –
students may enter up to 7 events – in groups A, B, & C
+ After Dinner Speaking and Group Interpretation (Separate
schedule)

Senior Division will have a new “experimental” event this
year – ADS (After Dinner Speaking)

A student dance is held on Friday night after the
competition
-
Awards are presented for 1st - 6th Place in all events,
Trithon/Pentathlon and Team Sweepstakes

$200 Savings Bonds are given to all students placing 1st in
each event

A "dressy" awards banquet is held on Saturday evening, after
the finals, and parents are invited to attend

registration is October 31, 2007. Upon receipt of your
registration form, a 2007-08 Handbook will be sent out
immediately.
